On Monday night, hundreds gathered inside the Woolly Mammoth Theater in downtown D.C. to honor five of the top non-profit executive directors in the Washington area. The ceremony, held at the Woolly Mammoth Theater, included a few musical numbers performed by local theater stars Felicia Curry and Donna Migliaccio.

Q. What does NPower Greater DC Region do?

A. We manage technology for nonprofits so that they can focus on the critical work they do in our community--feeding the homeless, teaching kids to read, or protecting the environment. We build and maintain their networks, help them select the right software to meet their needs, and guide them in planning and budgeting for technology. We help them figure out how to use technology so that they can do their important work more effectively.

We can't resist a good awards ceremony (heck, we're suckers for bad ones too) so we happily attended the annual NPower Technology Innovations Awards late last week at the National Association of Homebuilders on 15th St. They fall into the "good" category, by the way, because they recognize non-profits who creatively use technology to advance their mission.
